ABOUT ME

I'm Sarah Thoonen (Pronounced Tonin), from the Bass Coast in Victoria, Australia.

My days are enjoyed in a home full of (decorative) bones and artwork, located in a beautiful spot between the bush and the beach, or spent working across Victoria as a Workplace Safety Professional.

Hobbies include creating artwork in a range of mediums, collecting and reading books, mostly sci-fi and fantasy, playing or running dungeons and dragons, playing video or board games, and trying my hand at a never-ending list of activities.

I started Sin & Steel as a way for me to interact more within the heavy metal community, with a space that's focused on the love and enjoyment of the music and the various sub-genres. I aim to explore the music and the community with listeners, celebrate the things we love, and find new things in the process.

Some of my favourite artists (although ever changing) include anything and everything Dio! Death, Acid Bath, Megadeth, Sepultura, Dimmu Borgir and Helloween.

For music outside of the realm of heavy metal, I love rockabilly, psychobilly and a bit of punk.
